Scorpio Girl

This is an intricate illustration with a mystical aura, a melancholic, pensive scorpio-woman, representing an aspect of myself and my psyche. There is a false belief of mythical proportions that scorpions sting themselves to death when threatened with fire, but a symbolism of dark, brooding, suicidal creature remained. I made a drawing after my father died, in the depths of mourning. But, in my mind I put this imagery in broader perspective and brighter light, as something that is trying to transcend pain, raise from the darkness and heal.
